A new committee has been elected ready for next year here is a list of the committee positions and who they are:

President : Matthew Crowe
Vice President: Vlad Stoian
Men's Captain: Chris Sharland
Women's Captain: Emma Nicholas
Armourer: Ruth Deane
Armourer Assistant: Phil Derham
Treasurer: Graham Laidlaw
Social Secretary: Matthew Joannes
Social Sec Assistant: Damien Stadden

It should be another good year to come and I look forward to working with new committee.

Hi everyone!

A new academic year is approaching, and of course the Fencing Club will be back with more swashbuckling goodness :D

Returning members please note:
The AU have introduced a comprehensive AU membership (£85) that allows everyone to sign up to any club they want, without having to pay extra membership, subs or match fees (that overall works out very well for fencing!) - please sign up HERE and choose fencing as your sport, so we can be sure to get you all the info you need! 

Of course you can also sign up to the club (newsletters) at FRESHER'S FAYRE (30/09 - 01/10). Be advised though that the AU stand for memberships will be very busy these two days, so you really might want to sign up beforehand.

Committee:
A committee meeting will be held in the week preceding Fresher's so we can work everything out. More info will follow in a newsletter shortly :)

Competitions:

Sussex Open coming up! Rather beginner-friendly foil & epee competition (03/10 - 04/10) - be sure to check it out!

INVENTORY 2009

As every year we need to sort through our kit, make sure it's all there, get rid of the broken stuff and decide what to order for next year. This year's inventory takes place:

Thursday, 14th of May, 17.00, the Union (function room 2b announced)

Guess what? Everybody's invited!!

COMMITTEE MEETING

the new committee will meet this Friday, 15th May, 18.00 @ the Wig & Pen to discuss general development, new ideas, kit and budget issues for next year. If you're interested in contributing to the club's development and have a clever idea, why not come along and tell us about it?

Fencing AGM 2009 03/19/2009
 

Our AGM is being held on Tuesday 28 April from 1800-1930 in Room 4, the Union.

Those wishing to be on next years' committee, please look at the committee descriptions (downloads page) and then email info@upfc.co.uk with the role you wish to apply for. Nominations must be in by Friday 3 April.

The agenda for the AGM will be posted on the downloads page of the website shortly.

Hello. Having fenced Portsmouth this year, we'd like to invite you to a tournament we hold at Sussex Uni. It's called the SUIFT, and takes place this year on the 26th April. It's mixed gender and three weapons. There will be a cake sale(!).

Hope some of your fencers can join us.

This years Dodgeball Tournament is on Sunday 22nd March 10 - 5 at the
Nuffield Sports Centre. We are looking for all sports to enter a team
in, its only £10. So get your squad together, fancy dress on and get
