Wednesday (tomorrow) proceeds as usual, and after Christmas everything will be back to our normal routine!

Hi everyone,
We have recently changed the forum, which we hope will be a little easier to navigate - rather than having a long list of details in each category, the categories are now sub forums. This means you can start a new thread for each single item.
At the moment, you will only be able to view posts, so if you want to post any items on the forum, you must send your forum user name to info@upfc.co.uk asap so we can authenticate you - we can only see a list of the users who have posted items and, although some of you have posted before, we lost some posts during the changes.

Christmas dinner - the remaining cash (£16.95) is due to the committee by Tuesday 25 November. Any questions, email rhiannon@upfc.co.uk
The Leon Paul trip will be next Saturday 29 November, leaving at around 9am - check the social page for full details - they should be up shortly.
Club Social Kit - hopefully the current order should be delivered just before the end of term. If it is not with us on or before 12 December and you are hangining around in Portsmouth for a while during the holiday, please email john.president@upfc.co.uk and I'll see if I can find out where you can collect your orders from.
A second order of social kit will be placed after Christmas - if you'd like to place your orders now, that's fine, just email them to rhiannon@upfc.co.uk. You will not have to pay until after Christmas.
Fencing socks - please please place your orders by emailing marina@upfc.co.uk with your name and the number of pairs you require. The deadline is Wednesday 26 November, and people will need to pay by Friday's session (28 November). The orders will not be with us until after Christmas, but the sooner we get it done, the sooner you'll get the socks! These socks are mandatory for all team UPFC fencers.
Last 2 Tuesday sessions before Christmas (2 and 9 December) will not be going ahead, since we cannot have Lux. Wednesday's (3 and 10 December) and Friday's (5 and 12 December) will go ahead as normal.

We will be fencing from 1500 in the Main Hall @ St Paul's Gym.

New Wednesday training sessions begin tomorrow - 12 November, at 2000 in the Main Hall of St Luke's. A map is available from the downloads page of this website, or from multimap by following this link:

This will affect fees slightly as follows: Those of you who pay subs per session, fees will be £2 for 1 session, £3 for 2 in the same week, and then it will be £4 for all 3 sessions.
This is simply to help us accommodate the extra cost of St Luke's, but I'm sure you'll agree with us that i) it's not as expensive as other clubs (often charging £4 per session); and ii) it's worth it for a more reliable venue than Lux!
It should be obvious from what has already been written, but training on Tuesday's will continue and we will keep you updated on cancellations via this news page and the forum.

Apologies for the problems we have had with our Tuesday sessions. On both occasions, UPSU failed to let us know of the double bookings, and in the case of Last Tuesday, they even told us it was on!
Anyway, Tuesday's session on 21 October is on (just keep your fingers crossed!).
Just so that you are all aware, myself and Wayne Gardiner are looking into alternative venues, which may be on a different day and/or time, to replace the current Tuesday sessions. We have the option of going to the Priory Sports Centre on Mondays from 5-7pm - any comments or suggestions, get in touch with me at a training session, but I'd like to go along with this for a couple of weeks as a trial.
Friday sessions should be completely unaffected, since they're in a much more reliable venue!
